GAME ARCHIVED

Yes, you did not read it wrong. The game has been archived.

"What does that mean?" You ask yourself.

Well, that means the game has been "cancelled". The reason I put quotes in that word is because, for me, the word "canceled" is too strong and there is no more hope for the project. On the other hand, archiving a project means that there may be a return in the future, near or far.

Lately, some friends (online and in person) and family have asked me how my game is going, asking how development is going and asking when it's going to release. In the end, just answering that development has been kind of stalled recently, besides that only I was doing the project, so that's a great weight off my mind. And with this audience eagerly awaiting the game, rating it positively over the days and just now this itch.io page has reached 3,000 views. I was very surprised, happy and sad at the same time.

As for the development, while I was releasing several reviews of the game, from the game page itself or through the videos of content creators on YouTube, there was a lot of feedback about some design issues during the game, like the distorted floor, for example. And throughout development, some bugs appeared, such as the enemy's Path finding. That sometimes worked normally, but sometimes the enemy was static and not finding the player's position to define a route and not magically go through the walls. Months passed, and development was very slow and weak. Since the previous post I warned that the game was in its 40% to 50%, so far the game has evolved in 5% to 10%.

And, the real reason for deciding for "cancelling" this project is the creative block and, ironically, there were more ideas for 3 projects for the future, which in the end took my focus for this game.

"Why don't you invite more people to development?" Yes, I created a team (I even created a Telegram group) named KesaiARTS. So far, only my brother has joined the team, responsible for the soundtrack. In the end, I had doubts about that, as he and I don't get along. Unfortunately, finding people and inviting them to the team is very difficult, as there are no funds and payments (because it's a team to develop games for fun) and here in my country, Brazil, it's more difficult because there are very few people with the same interest as me. And it gets worse, since the government itself doesn't even encourage national game development.

In the end, I'll just apologize for you, who eagerly awaited this project and I had promised to deliver into your hands. I will try to find more people for the team, maybe I will create a registration form for the team in the future, I just don't know what to do.

Then that's it. I had to update you guys to end this 4-year delay mystery.

Have a nice day. Take care yourself.

See you soon. (Maybe)

I'm glad to see that the project still has the possibility to be completed, but I'm much happier knowing that you respect yourself enough to not force the game to be completed. I've seen too many good games crash and burn because the devs were burnt out but still insisted on finishing their project.

With that said, I wish you luck with your future projects and I look forward to seeing them.
